“Horn-fuelled filth-funk, where punk & jazz combine in grimy circumstances” NME

“A land where growled-jazz meets the blues in a showdown to end all perceptions of genre” So Young

“Intense blast of guitar pop” Clash

Brighton risers Opus Kink share frenetic new single ‘I Love You, Baby’, the first reveal from the enigmatic collective’s debut EP arriving this summer via Nice Swan Records (Sports Team, Pip Blom, FUR).

Partnering with the revered indie label for their upcoming material, the six-piece group – comprised of Angus Rogers, Sam Abbo, Fin Abbo, Jed Morgans, Jazz Pope & Jack Banjo Courtney – blend a dizzying array of influences in their ever-evolving style, resulting in an experimental patchwork of explosive material that’s already earned widespread plaudits across the press landscape.

With praise arriving from the likes of NME, So Young, Clash and Gigwise, not to mention BBC 6 Music playlist support for previous track ‘This Train’, the six-piece are perfectly positioned ahead of what promises to be a busy 2022, having already ticked off live dates alongside label-mates Malady and Mandrake Handshake, in addition to a sold-out headliner at London’s legendary 100 Club last month.

Speaking ahead of their single release, the band explained: “‘I Love You, Baby’ is a sweet, tender love song charting one careless heart’s adventure through purgatory. Signed with a sticky kiss from Opus Kink to you”.

Opus Kink’s ‘I Love You, Baby’ is out February 15th via Nice Swan Records and will be available on all digital platforms.
