YABBA sign to Nice Swan Records & share debut single ‘Get By’, set for release October 13th

Scottish newcomers YABBA announce their arrival with frenetic debut single ‘Get By’, set for release October 13th via revered indie label Nice Swan Records (Sports Team, English Teacher, Opus Kink).

Teaming with the cult tastemakers for their first ever release, the thrilling quintet are readying themselves for a full-scale assault on the indie landscape. From Dumfries, in south west Scotland, their incomparable sleaze-disco, self-indulgent, drug jam sound has driven the group in equal measure to go above and beyond all cultural norms, and to fecund a feeling in music that specialises in the dark and danceable.

Despite having no trace of recordings, their slew of support shows in March 2022 with Irish buzz-saw-band, Enola Gay, were very well received, and the four-piece will soon be heading back out on the road this autumn, with slots lined up at Left of the Dial Festival (Netherlands), Swn Fest, Float Along Festival and Mutations Festival amongst others.

Speaking ahead of their debut release, YABBA revealed: “‘GET BY’ can be used as much like C4 is used to blast the doors off a bank. The song carries the same burden shared with the common people in the UK. GET BY is the theme song Stone Cold Steve Austin wished he had. GET BY is not for nerds. We heard only hot people like GET BY. GET BY was written in one of the last prison houses in Scotland. It’s BIG MUSIC, once you hear it, you’ll never be the same.”

YABBA’s ‘Get By’ (single) is out October 13th via Nice Swan Records and will be available on all digital platforms.

YABBA is Josh Kirk (vocalist), Korey Patterson (guitarist), Elias Muusavi (guitarist), Max Thomson (drummer), Nick Farrell (synth)
