“Genre-hopping anthems that flaunt grit and glamour…a masterclass of channelling angst into disarming indie for a new generation” NME
“Kynsy’s world is one bursting with colour and brimming with authenticity” DIY
“An act we’ll hopefully be seeing an awful lot more of” Dork
Irish indie sensation Kynsy shares pulsating new single ‘Body’, out today (September 12th), marking the latest reveal from her upcoming ‘Utopia’ EP (pre-order here), set for release October 27th via Nice Swan Records (English Teacher, Sprints, Chalk).
The follow-up to raucous lead track ‘Stereo Games’, ‘Body’ sees the Dublin-raised, London-based musician provide a further thrilling glimpse of what fans can expect on her full UK tour this autumn, with headline shows lined up at The Waiting Room, London and Castle Hotel, Manchester amongst several others; this follows a sold-out headliner at Third Man London this summer.
Newly partnered with esteemed indie label Nice Swan, Kynsy has already attracted widespread support throughout the tastemaker community (NME, DIY, Dork, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, Rough Trade, Paste), as well as BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders) and BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins) airplay; whilst on the live front she has already ticked off previous slots with acts including Black Honey, Do Nothing and NewDad.
Detailing her latest EP reveal, Kynsy stated: “This song is a reflection on the journey of reclaiming my identity and breaking free from the expectations placed upon me. It explores the struggle of playing a role that no longer aligns with who I truly am, and the toll it takes on both my mind and body. Ultimately, it’s about the strength it takes to listen to that inner voice, to acknowledge when enough is enough, and to choose freedom over familiarity. “I’m Getting Out” is an anthem for anyone who’s felt trapped in a situation where they can’t be themselves and finds the courage to leave it behind.”
Kynsy’s ‘Body’ is out now via Nice Swan Records and available on all digital platforms (pre-order ‘Utopia’ EP here).
