Having carved out a name for themselves in the underbelly bars of East London over the last twelve months, the brand new four-piece have partnered with cult indie label Nice Swan for their first official release, having just completed their debut UK headline tour this October, capped off with a performance at Left Of The Dial Festival in Rotterdam this weekend.

Structurally precise yet emotionally raw, ‘Horses for Meat’ pulses like a heartbeat, before collapsing into tender, exquisite interludes and a more deliberate edge. Weaving garage rock, grunge and metal into an unfiltered punch, the band balance brash energy with sharp songwriting and a love for the old school, and have already supported the likes of Home Counties, FEET and Grandmas House in recent times.

Detailing ‘Horses for Meat’, Honest Work added:

‘Horses for Meat’ is a track that delves into themes of desolation, bleakness and the primal human instinct to survive. In a literal sense, you might picture a character taking drastic measures to stay alive in a harsh winter landscape, but figuratively speaking the song addresses the reality of modern day struggles, and acts as a metaphor to the extreme actions we all might take when times are hard.

Mixed by Oli Middleton (The Smile, Foals, IDLES) and mastered by James Trevascus (Nick Cave, Young Fathers, Billy Nomates), Honest Work’s ‘Horses for Meat’ is out now via Nice Swan Records and available on all digital platforms.

Honest Work is Curtis Connor (guitar & vocals), Tom Simpkins (guitar), Matthew Osborne (bass), Finn Fox (drums).
