Leeds punk band Fuzz Lightyear releases politically charged single addressing societal apathy, marking their first 2025 track via Nice Swan Records.
The track marks the band’s first release of 2025, following their recent performance on the BBC 6 Music stage at The Great Escape Festival.
“Most of our songs are about personal internal worlds, but this is our first song grappling with wider political society,” frontman Ben Parry says. “I used to be a very political person, but after years of constant hate by the right, and with little sign of solutions, I lost that passion. It’s hard to stay in the fight when it feels like nothing’s changed. This song is something of a wakeup call to myself, and to anyone else as apathetic as me, to keep going.”
The band, comprising Ben Parry (vocals, guitar), Josh Taylor (drums), Varun Govil (bass), and Alex Calder (synth, guitar), have previously toured with English Teacher, Adult DVD, Lambrini Girls and Jasmine.4.T.
